The problems we hear most from trades
- No website, or an outdated one, loses jobs to competitors who show up first on Google.
- A missed call between jobs often costs you the job to whoever answers first. See how this plays out for trades, and the fix.
- Quotes written up at night and invoices chased by memory mean some work never gets paid for on time.
What we typically set up for trades
- A website that loads fast on a phone (most searches happen on site, in a van, between jobs), shows your work and reviews, and makes it easy to call or request a quote.
- Local SEO, starting with a proper Google Business Profile, so you show up on Maps when someone searches "plumber in [your town]" rather than just your business name.
- A simple CRM pipeline so every enquiry is logged somewhere other than a notebook, with a reminder if nobody's followed up within a day or two.
- Automation for quotes, invoices and job reminders, so chasing payment and confirming appointments doesn't rely on you remembering to do it between jobs.
We build around what you already use. If you're on Tradify, ServiceM8 or Jobber for job management, we connect your website and enquiries into that rather than asking you to learn something new.
A typical setup
Here's a hypothetical run-through for a small building firm: a visitor finds the website through Google, searching "extension builder" plus their town, and fills in a short enquiry form asking what the job is and roughly when. That form lands straight in a simple CRM pipeline as a new enquiry, with an automatic reminder to call back within a day.
After the site visit, the quote is written up in Xero or QuickBooks and sent from a template rather than typed from scratch each time. If the customer hasn't responded within a week, a polite follow-up email goes out automatically rather than depending on someone remembering. Once the job's confirmed and finished, the invoice is raised and chased automatically if it runs late, and a short, automatic request for a Google review goes out a few days after completion. Nothing here needs a big piece of software. It's a handful of small, connected steps that used to depend on memory.
Tools we often work with in this sector
We're happy to work with whatever you've already got, including Tradify, ServiceM8, Jobber, Xero and QuickBooks for job management and accounts. If you're not using any of these yet, we'll suggest something that fits the size of your business rather than the biggest name on the market. The goal is always fewer logins and less double entry, not more software for its own sake.
